Happy Chinese New Year
Happy Chinese New Year!
The lunisolar Chinese calendar determines the date of Chinese New Year, therefore it is also known as the Lunar New Year. The date changes from year to year, starting with the new moon and ending on the full moon 15 days later. The Chinese New Year is considered the biggest celebration of the year. Tonight, is Chinese New Years Eve and marks the year of the Horse, an animal that is favored in china and seen as a symbol of travel, competition and victory.
Here at TÉLIO we work very closely with mills in China, and during this time everything shuts down for two to four weeks, giving workers the opportunity to travel home and be with their loved ones for this very important holiday. The lunar New Year is all about family, being a time of reunion and thanksgiving.
Wishing everyone a happy and healthy Chinese New Year,
