Fashion Week Wrap Up: TÉLIO’s Spring 2014 Favourites from London, Paris and Milan!

All the major European Fashion Weeks wrapped by the beginning of October and we had to take a look at what the runways of the world had to offer! We are always inspired by designer fashion, and the fabrics we work with daily are influenced by, and have an influence on the trends seen on the runway every season!

Here are some of my favourite looks from the Spring 2014 Ready-to-Wear shows!

{left to right} Mulberry Quilted Dress;, House of Holland Guipure Dress;, L’Wren Scott Eyelet Dress;

London: Mulberry is taking the quilted look from fall to spring by creating well-cut simple dresses that focus on the amazing texture of the fabric! At TÉLIO we have some great quilted options, and as a fan of this trend, we are hoping it will stick around for a few more seasons to see how it transforms! The middle look from House of Holland provides an amazing pop of colour in this bold guipure lace. The cap and waist-tied sweater, make it wearable for daytime, while it definitely remains a great evening piece when accessorized differently. Finally L’Wren Scott used eyelets in fresh white for a classic spring look.

{left to right} Carven Floral Print Dress;, Dries Van Noten Sequin Emb;, Balenciaga shorts;

Paris: The City of Love displayed some romantic prints and details on the runway. Big florals seen on this dress from Carven (left) are repeated as a design detail on the jacket; a great way to tie a look together. The Dries Van Noten sequin embroidered dress (in the center) is a stand out piece! TÉLIO has many beautiful types of embroidery similar to this, to create a sophisticated evening look. Balenciaga (right) used this dark print reoccurring throughout their collection. I love the moody effect it gives using only these 2 colours, and how it looks like a woven design.

{left to right} Missoni graphic print dress;, Emilio Pucci leather top and jacquard skirt;, Versace floral mirror print top and shorts;

Milan: Italy is known for designers that like to make colourful, “print-tastic” garments, and these looks above do not disappoint! At TÉLIO we have an extensive print collection and are always inspired by bold, graphic and beautiful print designs. These creative prints and jacquards seen here are a fresh new look, straying from the same florals and tribal inspired prints we’ve been seeing the last few seasons.

The next fashion week to watch for is our local Toronto Fashion Week! Coming up Oct 16 to 26 we can’t wait to see what some more Canadian designers and some TÉLIO customers will bring to the runway!
