Brittany J. Jones : DIY Casual Top

Floral Rayon Voile (69000-01) Casual Top: McCall’s 7630 Week 1: TÉLIO Collaboration by Brittany J. Jones

*fabric mentioned in this post, was provided to me by TÉLIO as part of this collaboration*

I’m so excited to share this first look of my month long collaboration with TÉLIO today! If you’re just joining in, I’m going to be working with TÉLIO the month of September to share some great Fall transitional wardrobe pieces. If it takes you a week or two to get into the next season of sewing like it does for me, I’m hoping this will be the jump start you need to get inspired. So lets get into this weeks project, the casual top.

I shared in my post on Monday, a few inspiration pics on how you can take a simple top and really jazz it up with bold and beautiful fabrics. And thats just what I wanted to do with this project. I wanted to show just how fabulous this print and those colors are, so keeping the garment simple was a no-brainer for me.

This gorgeous print is a Rayon Voile. It is a very lightweight woven with tons of drape and movement. It’s really soft and flowy and will be great for blouses, kimonos, and lined skirts/dresses.

For my top, I used McCalls 7630 View B. It’s an easy pullover top, with no closures, and it comes together really quickly. If you’ve lost your “sewing mojo” this is one of those projects you want to reach for to get you back at your machine! For size, I cut the 14 and made no adjustments to the pattern.

I self-drafted my black button up circle skirt to wear with my top. I’m kind of obsessed with these skirts right now and I’m on a mission to make one in ever color! LOL! I think they paired together nicely especially with the brown buttons!

If you love this fabric as much as I do (and I know you do, its so beautiful)TÉLIO is having a giveaway on their Instagram account right now. Head on over and enter for a chance to win 3 yards of this Rayon Voile Print fabric.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! On Friday, I’ll be uploading the Sew With Me video to make this top. Be sure to subscribe to my channel so you don’t miss it!

Until then….
