THROWBACK THURSDAY 10TH ANNIVERSARY- A Recap of 2014

We’re already at our last Throwback Thursday! A few days away from the 2015 edition’s finale of Canada’s Breakthrough Designers, here’s a look-back to 2014.

After 8 years of collaborating with Montreal Fashion Week, Télio partnered with a new fashion event in 2014, D Moment, dedicated to promoting local talent and thus perfectly aligning with the Télio competition. The fashion show took place at the Technopôle Angus, where 25 finalists showcased their creations, inspired by the Textures theme. The richness and the monochromatic tones of the chosen fabrics put emphasis on the composition and feel of the materials, and defined the finished garments from the Textures editions of the competition.

The jury was made up of Nicole Bridger, Lolitta Dandoy, Dominique Lemieux, James Mendolia, Sonia Moffa, Truc Nguyen and Emily Ramshaw, who crowned four students from Lasalle Colleges as the winners of the first four prizes. The Joncas twins took home the first two prizes which delivered a moment of heightened emotion and excitement. They walked away with scholarships of $5,000 and  $3, 500, as well as innovative logistical licenses in textile design, with both receiving a private five day training in Atlanta, graciously offered by LECTRA.
