TÉLIO begins….

Three generation ago, Joseph Télio founded his company overseas specializing in the importation of fashion fabrics from Europe.  In 1952, Joseph and his family immigrated to Montreal, Canada where he re-established TÉLIO and continued his wholesale business, importing and exporting fabrics sourced from France, Italy, Spain, Austria and the UK. Little did he know he was creating what was to become a leading force in the fashion fabric industry in North America and around the globe.

The business continued to expand when Joseph’s youngest son André joined the company in 1975, working his way up to eventually assume the presidency in 1988. The company then welcomed its third generation member when Joseph’s grandson Alain Télio joined the ranks soon after.

By the mid-1980’s, adapting to the changing industry landscape, the company broadened its scope. TÉLIO began purchasing fabrics from Asian countries while continuing to export to the United States, South America, and Europe. Aiming to expand its customer base, TÉLIO participated in annual trade shows across North America promoting the latest fabric trends.

In 2004, the company expanded to its present 65,000 sq.ft. facility in Montreal, which today houses its head office,  warehouse and distribution center. With showrooms located in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver, and a team of over 70 employees, TÉLIO wholesales its collections to apparel manufacturers, fabric boutiques and independent designers.
