Designer Interview: London Alexander

Since long before even graduating from VCC in 2012, London Alexander has been the menswear designer to watch in Vancouver. It’s been so exciting to watch his brand grow; we really love his simple, creative, and thoughtfully designed pieces. London recently answered some of our questions about life, inspiration & fashion!


A typical Saturday night is….
Usually working, but if I get some time to enjoy myself I like to go for dinner with friends.

What do you do in your free time?
I really enjoy skateboarding and snowboarding.

What is your main motivation when doing what you do?
Coming up with new designs is a big motivator for me.

A dream you’d like to achieve
Being able to design anywhere in the world. Also, collaborating and doing capsule collections for other labels too.

Who are your fashion heroes/heroines in real life?
My mom and my grandpa Inniss.

How would you describe your city’s fashion?
I’d say it’s a mix of everything now.

What is your favourite part about being a designer?
When a sketch becomes an article of clothing. I also like sourcing new fabrics a lot.

How do you balance creativity and marketing your product?
I try and create unique pieces that can still be worn by most people.
