Canada’s Breakthrough Designers 2014 Garment Reception

Hi everyone, this is my first post for the TÉLIO TEXTURES blog- Yay!

I will take the opportunity to introduce myself a little bit. My name is Valérie Duval and I am the new Intern Coordinator for the Canada’s Breakthrough Designers Competition. I will be busy working and learning at TÉLIO for a total of three months, although I must say, somehow a month has already passed by! I am in the second year of my Management and Fashion Design bachelor’s degree at École Supérieure de mode at Université du Québec à Montréal. I am truly happy to be part of the TÉLIO team and I hope you enjoy my first post!

There was way too much excitement over here at the TÉLIO HQ, last friday, when we received the 25 finalists’ garments, and what a joyful day it was. We had the chance to check out how the theme TEXTURES was explored differently by each student. The most interesting and impressive part for me (since I also have a diploma in Fashion Design) was to see how each finalist had different visions of this rich theme and how they brought their inspiration to life. It was such a pleasure to feel and examine every garment. All 25 designs inspire passion and a lot of hard work. The future Canadian fashion designers have shown us a lot of creativity!

I simply  cannot wait to see all these designs on the runway! Our Fashion Show will be held during an all new fashion event, D Moment, right here in Montreal, February 25th.

You can count on us to bring you all the details before and after our 2014 final judging day and fashion show, held on February 24th and 25th, right here on our TÉLIO Textures Blog!
