TÉLIO TALKS: So Long, Farewell!

Bye for now,

Sadly my interning experience has come to an end and today is my last day at TÉLIO. I will be heading back home to Vancouver very shortly to start another chapter of my life! Having the chance to intern at TÉLIO over the last three months has given me the opportunity to explore the world of textile design expanding my fabric knowledge. As well, it has given me the chance to make lifelong friends with memories that will last a lifetime. I couldn’t have asked for a better interning experience!  TÉLIO greeted me with open arms, taught me so much professionally, while also providing me with a rich experience of the Quebecois culture!

I decided to leave everyone at the office with a little something as a token of my appreciation. I made handmade thank you cards and Ginger Crinkle Cookies (my mother’s secret recipe) which I wanted to share with all of you today! Hope you like them!

THANK YOU CARDS copyThese are simple, easy to make and personalized. All you need is glue, ribbon, a marker, and cue cards. Glue cards together on the left side. Glue on wide ribbon wherever you think looks best. Tie little bows and place on top of the ribbon. Write any comments you like. I made my cards  into thank you cards as I wanted to thank everyone at TÉLIO for such a great time.

Ginger Crinkle Cookies: MY MOMA’S RECIPE

You will need:
¾ cup shorting
1 cup white sugar
1 egg
¼ cup molasses
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons soda dissolves in 2 teaspoons of hot water
¼ teaspoon cinnamon
½ teaspoon cloves
½ ginger

What you do:
First Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Then cream shortening and sugar together. Add egg, molasses, and soda mixture and mix together. Fold in spices adding one cup of flour at a time. Add more flour if the texture is too moist but do not exceed three cups of flour. Roll dough into balls and roll into sugar. Place on cookies sheet and cook for 10 minutes or until the top of the cookies are cracked.

Good bye!
See you later alligator,
After a while crocodile.
In an hour sunflower,
Maybe two kangaroo.
Gotta go buffalo.
Adios hippos.
Chow chow brown cow.
See you soon baboon.
Better swish jelly fish.
Bye bye butterflies!
